Safer staffing levels
Following the publication of the Francis Report; national guidance was issued on how provider organisations should monitor and ensure the safe and competent staffing on all their wards. You can read more about that here.
All NHS Trusts are required to publish information about the number of nurses and support workers per shift, together with the percentage of shifts meeting safe
staffing guidelines.
At Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) we are committed to providing patient care that is safe, compassionate and of the highest quality, and welcome this new national initiative to improve safety on inpatient wards. By publishing monthly information about our staffing levels we will be able to clearly identify challenges to staffing and make improvements. We are also displaying information for patients and visitors in all of our wards that shows the planned and actual staffing available at the start of every shift. You can see the safer staffing figures at the bottom of the page.
We are committed to improving our figures and will continue to work closely together with our staff to ensure this happens.
